    You can take simulator courses based on the officially recognized lapcenter curriculum here: lapcenter Zurich, Cantonal Hospitals Lucerne and Zug, University Hospitals Zurich and Basle, CHUV Lausanne. Same as last year, participants receive a certificate over 35 CME (continuous medical education) credits from the Swiss Surgical Society at the end of each course.

"Flying Simulator" Courses
Rent your own simulator!

What is this about?

For the duration of 3 months, we place a simulator at your disposal right in your hospital. Every 2 weeks, a lapcenter instructor comes by and offers on-site support with the laparoscopic training. 

For whom?

The “Flying Simulator” courses are especially suited for Residents in general surgery, urology and gynecology. 6-8 participants can be optimally cared for.

Which simulators?

The following state-of-the-art and highly realistic surgical simulators are available for you: the LapSim® by Surgical Science, the LapMentor® by Simbionix, as well as the HystSim® und UroSim® by VirtaMed.

What is the course content?

In our courses, we enhance your surgical skills and learn how to do laparoscopic surgery – and that happens in an absolutely riskless environment: 
  • Laparoscopic basic skills
  • Various laparoscopic techniques and even complete surgeries
  • Laparoscopic suturing

Certification

The courses are based upon the lapcenter curriculum and are officially recognized by the Swiss Surgical Association (SGC). After the successful final examination, every participant receives a certificate about 35 credits for continued education. 

Costs

The rent for one simulator is CHF 1’500.- per month, including the personal support and assistance on-site every 2 weeks. Each Resident who participates in the course pays CHF 2’000.- for the 3 months of training.
